Observation Status and State:

A 3 or 4 letter code is used to give the current status of a given observation segement. The definitions are given: here .

Survey Types and Area Definitions:

Each observation segment has a specific survey type or "area definition" which describes the number of frames to be taken, the exposure times of the frames, the target pattern on the sky, etc. Here is a description of all the areas (as of 2/1/99): area definitions.
